The St. Regis Mauritius Resort has opened, marking the brand’s entry into Africa. Designed by Stauch Vorster Architects with interiors by Trevor Julius of design firm dsgn, the property—located on pristine white natural beaches at a UNESCO World Heritage site—takes its cues from a Victorian sugar baron’s manor house set in a historical estate. Meanwhile, expansive terraces and colonnades are reminiscent of the destination’s colonial past.

The resort features 172 spacious guestrooms and suites, all of which offer unspoiled views of the Indian Ocean. The ultra-luxe beachfront St. Regis Villa features a private entrance, four lavish bedrooms with private pools and gardens, entertainment and dining areas, an infinity pool, a bar, and private spa treatment room. At the heart of the resort is the manor house, comprising seven luxurious suites with in-room spa facilities, a private 24-seat cinema, a Drawing Room for indoor entertainment and games, a swimming pool, library, and conservatory.

Guests have access to a variety of F&B options, including signature restaurant Simply India; Le Manoir Dining Room; Floating Market; the Boathouse Bar & Grill, ideal for casual oceanfront dining; and the 1904 Bar, inspired by the legendary St. Regis New York hotel. The hotel’s 22,730-square-foot Iridium Spa offers 12 treatment rooms with ocean views, along with a salon, relaxation lounge, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam rooms, a men’s grooming salon, and fitness club. Other leisure facilities include a beachside swimming pool, tennis court, and resort boutique.
