Shangri-La Paris Unveils Health Retreat
Jan 23, 2013
The 5,382-square-foot space optimizes both natural daylight and space with a duplex formation. With the building’s classical French architecture and vaulted ceilings, Rochon designed a 980-square-foot pool and a 1,012-square-foot private, plant-lined terrace. Five bas-reliefs around the pool area and columns emphasize the flora and water inspired motifs. A palette of pale blues and celadon green is used alongside an oriental carpet, mosaic tiling, and an Asian-inspired bespoke carpeting.
Overlooking the pool, a wrap-around mezzanine gives access to the treatment rooms and the open, naturally lit fitness area. Each treatment room is outfitted with a private hammam shower and vanity table, and the menu includes selections of five facials and body treatments by Carita. Next to the treatment rooms, the fitness room overlooks the swimming pool and is outfitted in chinoiserie-style celadon wallpaper.
