Macau’s Sands Cotai Central Expands Largest Sheraton
Jan 30, 2013
Sands Cotai Central has announced the completion of the Sheraton Macao Hotel. Situated within Cotai Central’s Earth Tower, the additional 2,067 new rooms make the Sheraton Macao Hotel the largest hotel in Macau and globally for Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Sands China’s Cotai Strip Resorts now provides more than 9,000 hotel rooms and suites with 3,896 rooms in the Sheraton.
The completion of the Earth Tower also means two more outdoor pools with views of Cotai for the casino resort. The hotel also houses the expansive Sheraton Club Lounge—a ballroom larger than 11 basketball courts— — as well as 160,000 square feet of meeting space and several restaurants.
For casual dining, three poolside cafés and lounges are available: Jaya, Sala, and Tiki, which specializes in nutritious cuisine. The lobby restaurant, Palms, incorporates a Pacific theme with blood orange chairs, an atrium skylight, and several indoor palm trees. Feast, open for all-day dining, boasts an inviting atmosphere with soothing earth tones and contemporary furniture.
Along with the contemporary, tropical décor, the Sheraton Macao Hotel’s Shine Spa spans 15 treatment rooms on the third floor of the hotel. The Shine Spa has both Western and Eastern influences and contains the five elements of feng shui: fire, earth, metal, water, and wood in its décor.
