Fairmont the Palm has opened its doors on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah, the world’s largest manmade island shaped in the form of a palm tree. DSA Architects International crafted a design that matches the prestige and the prominence of the archipelago. To that end, the firm relied on Arabic influences and incorporated earthy elements through a palette of beige, ecru, tan, and light hues, as well as natural building materials like granite and marble.  

The scheme is prominent in guestrooms, where the décor integrates the shimmering crystal waters of the sea, reflecting the beauty of the Arabian Gulf sunrise and sunset in the carpets and soft furnishings. Arabic design elements feature throughout, from the light fixtures to the intricate designs inlayed in the wooden headboards.

The hotel offers seven restaurants and lounges, including Brazilian outpost Frevo; Ba, a pan Chinese restaurant; Flow Kitchen, serving up international dishes, and the Cigar Room. On the leisure front, Willow Stream Spa boasts 13 treatment rooms; health and fitness facilities, four outdoor pools, and a private beach also are available. Rounding out the amenities is more than 30,000 square feet of function space.
