Apr 2, 2013

The Ascend Hotel collection has debuted in Baltimore with three boutique hotels in the Inner Harbor and Fells Point neighborhoods.

Founded in 1893, the Inn at Henderson’s Wharf is located directly on the Fells Point waterfront. The 38-room inn features upgraded guestrooms with dark wood furnishings, feather beds, and harbor or garden views, and sculptures and paintings in the interiors celebrate the neighborhood’s maritime heritage.

Also on the waterfront, the 66-room Pier 5 is set on a private pier close to the National Aquarium. The three-story lobby boasts contemporary decor, gem-hued walls, velvet couches, and harbor views. Among the F&B outlets are McCormick and Schmick’s Seafood and Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. Pier 5 also offers 7,300 square feet of meeting and reception space, including ballrooms, the Harbor club, and the Lighthouse garden.

A charter member of the Historic Hotels of America, the European-style Admiral Fell Inn houses seven brick buildings that date back to the 1770s. The 80-room hotel offers 3,500 square feet of meeting and event space including the Admiral Fell ballroom with views of the city’s skyline and historic seaport. The Inn also houses Meli Patisserie & Bistro, which serves American fare; Tapas Adela; and the Tavern at the Admiral, offering local beer and cocktails borrowed from old seafarer’s recipes.
