On June 6th, Hospitality Design (HD) magazine presented its 8th annual awards—sponsored by Interiors from Spain, Durkan, Modern Line Furniture, Nano-Tex, Pierpoint Pacific, and Purchasing Management International—at a new venue, the Grand Hyatt New York. Three hundred designers, architects, manufacturers, and other industry professionals gathered to celebrate the 22 winners and 17 finalists during a ceremony and reception, followed by an after party at Fine Dining award winner STK Midtown.
 
The biggest surprise of the evening was the announcement of Lijiang Pullman Resort & Spa Hotel (pictured below) in Yunnan, China, as Best of Show. The sole honoree in the Resort category, the property is owned by Lijiang Century Real Estate Development Co. Ltd.; Yichen Architectural Design Co. Ltd. was the architecture firm; and Cheng Chung Design worked on the stunning interiors. Joe Cheng, Nick Tse, and Carmen Cheung of CCD flew in from Hong Kong to accept both awards.
