Following a multimillion-dollar renovation, Joie de Vivre Hospitality has relaunched the newly named Waterfront Hotel at Jack London Square in Oakland. As it does with all its properties, Joie de Vivre used magazines to inform its design of the Waterfront Hotel. The company selected Island and Fast Company magazines as its sources of inspiration. A maritime-themed design permeates all aspects of the hotel. Many of the 145 guestrooms feature fireplaces and balconies. The hotel also offers fitness facilities and a heated pool that overlooks the Bay. In addition, the hotel has more than 9,000 square feet of meeting and event space. The Waterfront also features Miss Pearl's Jam House, a restaurant that once occupied the Phoenix Hotel in San Francisco.
