5-Star Hotel Approved for Montecito, California

A developer has received approval for a 5-Star hotel in Montecito, California. The city's planning commission says that Caruso Affiliated can build the Caruso Hotel on the site of the historic (and shuttered) Miramar Hotel. The oceanfront project will include 192 guestrooms, a spa, a beach club, ballroom space, and a boardwalk. Ground will break early next year, with an anticipated opening of spring 2011.
