Las Vegas Sands Bows out of Kansas Resort-Casino

Las Vegas Sands Corp. has announced it will not build a resort-casino in Kansas. The company cited the rough financial marketplace and a possible change in Missouri's gaming statutes as reasons for the withdrawal. If passed, the new Missouri legislation would allow gaming operators to significantly increase wager amounts at casinos, thus posing a threat to the viability of a Kansas facility, Las Vegas Sands says.
