The pipeline for new hotels in South America has peaked, according to a report from Lodging Econometrics (LE). Most of the development is geared toward Brazil, home to 203 of the continent's 341 hotels in the pipeline. Brazil remains a favorite among hotel developers for its broad-based economy, says LE president Patrick Ford. Argentina follows Brazil with 50 hotels; Colombia, Peru, Chile, and Venezuela round out the rest of the pipeline.
