Harrah's Board Approves Company Name Change to Caesars Entertainment

The board of directors at Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. has approved plans to change the company's name to Caesars Entertainment Corporation. Executives believe that the name change will capitalize on Caesars' brand recognition while attracting a broader base of high-end customers.

Additionally, the company says the shift reflects its evolution into an entertainment company that provides both gaming and nongaming amenities to its guests. The Harrah's name will continue to be one of the company's three primary casino brands, along with Caesars and Horseshoe.
