Hotels have come a long way in implementing green initiatives, but they feel they still face some barriers, according to the Green Assessment Survey conducted by AH&LA.
Highlights of the survey results include:
- 88 percent of responding properties offer a linen-reuse program, while 83.5 percent have a towel-reuse program
- 16 percent use occupancy-sensor controls for guestroom thermostats
- 82 percent train maintenance workers on conservation and energy procedures
- Some respondents say that lack of capital and achieving ROI are the two biggest obstacles facing them when it comes to implementing green changes
