The New York Marriott Downtown announced that it will use a microturbine farm to conserve energy and lower its operating costs. Two PureComfort systems from UTC Power will generate heat and air conditioning for the 500-room hotel. According to UTC, the systems are about three times more efficient than a traditional power plant.
Thanks to the microturbine farm, the hotel will also avoid sending 1,700 tons of CO2 emissions and 10 tons of nitrogen oxides into the atmosphere.
