Two more hotels have been designated green by the state of Florida. Mariner's Resort Villas & Marina in Key Largo is the first on the island to earn Florida's Green Lodging certification. The Orlando World Center Marriott Resort & Convention Center also earned the designation.
To receive the certification, hotels need to implement a series of green initiatives, including recycling, low-flow plumbing fixtures, compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs), a linen-reuse program, and the purchase of recycled materials.
